Hamdard
Laboratories (WAQF) Pakistan has been developing rapidly since
its inception 52 years ago and contributing to the promotion
of health care. Hamdard is now a household name in Pakistan.

Today Hamdard Laboratories have a team of over 3000 co-workers throughout Pakistan, which includes hakims, doctors, scientists, pharmacists, technicians and other skilled and unskilled workers. Hamdard
Laboratories central structure is based in Karachi consisting
of a fully automated pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, and
research units, manufacturing a wide spectrum of herbal products.
Recently, a new industrial complex has been set up about 40
km from Karachi. This industrial complex is well-equipped with
modern machinery and facilities, sufficient technically, mechanically
and in many other ways to fulfil the demands for the next 15
years. |

Another factory
at Peshawar is also one of the fully equipped factories engaged
in the production of syrups, extractive distillates, semi-solid
and solid preparations using automatic plants.

| The
quality control department of Hamdard is working under the guidelines
set up by World Health Organization (W.H.O). Strict C.G.M.P standards
are maintained in the manufacturing areas in order to provide
the finest quality products to our customers. The modern knowledge and the techniques required for the task are acquired from national and international sources. Different physical, physico-chemical, chemical and microbiological testing of herbal raw material, finished products and packaging materials etc. are carried out for the standardization and quality control of Unani (herbal) medicines. Apart from these regular
efforts, Hamdard has published a comprehensive pharmacopoeia
of Eastern Medicine entitled "Hamdard Pharmacopoeia
of Eastern Medicine", "Pharmacographia Indica", "Al-Biruni's
Book of Pharmacy and |
