It is by far the largest and most prestigious project undertaken by any
welfare oriented business organization in the country. The city
spreads over 300 acres of land, and fulfils the dream and vision
of Hakim Mohammed Said for the promotion of science, culture and
education.

| Bait-ul-Hikmah
: Hamdard University Library |
It is the largest and the best-equipped library in Pakistan. It has a
vast collection of books and journals in various disciplines and
languages. At present its holdings comprise more than 4,00,000
books, journals, periodicals, and manuscripts. An auditorium equipped
with simultaneous interpretation in five languages, with seating
capacity for 350 participants is also located in Bait-al-Hikmah.

| Hamdard
Public School |
Hamdard Public School was established in 1990 at Madinat al-Hikmah with
the aim of providing the best possible education and training facilities
to the students. Spread over one hundred acres of land, it is designed
for 5,000 students to impart education from primary level to higher
secondary level.
The
students graduating from the school can continue their studies
in the Hamdard Colleges and Hamdard University. The school is
affiliated to the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (UNESCO).

Village School |
|
It was
the mission of Shaheed Hakim Said, that no child of Pakistan should
be deprived of education.
The new
campus of Hamdard Village School was completed & inaugurated
last year, Hamdard Village School provides educational facility
to the children of villages & goths adjoining Madinat al-Hikmah.
School is totaly free, Books & uniforms are also provided by
the Hamdard Foundation Pakistan.

| Children's
City |
|
Apart from classrooms where education is imparted, education through
recreation is catered through the Children's City. In it are exhibits
such as a locomotive, tank, jet fighter and aircraft etc. A football
stadium with track and sports field is also complete. Other sports
such as jogging, cycling and horse riding will be provided in the
near future in the Children's City.

College of Science & Commerce |
|
For the first couple of years Hamdard School had classes I to V only,
increasing to classes VI to X gradually. For pre-University education,
students had to go elsewhere. To remedy the situation, it was decided
to extend the school and start the Hamdard College of Science and
Hamdard College of Commerce. Hence both these colleges started functioning
since 1997.

Hamdard University is the culmination of the vision of Hakim Mohammed
Said, founder of the university. The primary goal of the university
is to achieve a level of academic excellence, which measures favourably
on the touchstone of international standard. The campus of Hamdard
University is located at Madinat-al-Hikmah, comprising 300 acres
of land.

|
Hamdard College of Medicine is a part of the Faculty of Health and Medical
Sciences, established in 1994, at Madinat al-Hikmah. The studies
are spread over a period of five years and four professional examinations,
leading to the award of M. B. B. S. and B.D.S degrees.

Al-Majeed
College of Eastern Medicine : ACEM
|
It has been established as a part of the faculty of Health and Medical
Sciences of Hamdard University at Madinat al-Hikmah. It awards
the degree of Bachelor of Eastern Medicine and Surgery (BEMS).
It started in 1995, to upgrade the knowledge and education of Eastern
Medicine in the country.

Institute of Management Science : HIMS
|
HIMS is a nationally and internationally recognized and accredited institute
which was established to meet the growing demands of emerging socio-economic
patterns and to sustain the preparation of a regular stream of
well-trained managerial cadres.
It
is one of the major business training institutions of the country.
HIMS was established in 1994 at Madinat al-Hikmah. Its main campus
is spread over an area of 85,000 sq. ft., containing computer
and informatics laboratories. A campus is also under operation
in Karachi city to serve to the growing number of students of
BBA (Hon.), MBA and Ph.D.

institute of Information Technoogy : HIIT
|
The
Hamdard Graduate School of Information Technology has been planned
to prepare a breed of designers of new products, systems and services.
HIIT
started functioning in 1997, offering a Master's program for
Information Technology at the city campus in Karachi. Students
graduating from this program would be prepared to design, develop
and supervise the role in Information Technology and to enter
in professions as diverse as EDP, education, electronic design,
telecommunications, urban planning, commercial arts, consultant
and software development.

Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Ilyas Institute of Pharmacology and Herbal Sciences
(HMIIPHS) is named after the late Managing Director of Hamdard
Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan, Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Ilyas, who was
responsible for its genesis. The objective of this Institute is
to carry out research on pharmacology and toxicology of herbal
drugs of Pakistan and elsewhere

Adamjee Nagar Campus,

Hamdard
University Faisalabad Campus is situated at East Canal Road, with
a congenial environment for professional education. Its beautiful
building has all the facilities, necessary for an institution of

systems to make learning interactive. The campus has a well-equipped
library containing large number of books and journals. A modern
computer laboratory is also available to the needs of academic

University Hospital |
In order to supplement the education at the Hamdard College of Medicine
and Dentistry, the University has established Hamdard University
Hospital, comprising 250 beds situated at main M. A. Jinnah Road,
Karachi. The hospital is managed by a team of highly experienced
physicians, surgeons, gynaecologists and ophthalmologists among
others, is equipped with modern equipment, diagnostic facilities,
up-to-date laboratories and dedicated and caring hospital staff.
The
OPD department remains open from dawn to dusk to provide treatment
facilities to incoming patients. Its emergency section is open
24 hours to look after serious cases and to provide immediate
care to every patient by highly qualified doctors and staff

Considering those residential facilities for scholars conducting research
work is most essential at the Madinat al-Hikmah, the Scholar's
House has been established to serve as a residence with all needed
facilities for scholars on a visit to Pakistan. This would enable
them to have the fullest benefit from Madinat al-Hikmah. The Scholars'
House also provides residential facilities to the delegates attending
international conferences.

Community
Health Center
|
At the time of commissioning of the Hamdard University at Madinat al-Hikmah,
the suburban areas and 38 villages surrounding Madinat al-Hikmah
were devoid of any health care facilities. The sick had to depend
on home treatment or had to travel miles to get to the nearest
clinic or hospital.
At
the Community Health Center, doctors and hakims treat the visiting
patients. The Health Center has become very popular and is attracting
the rural people who cannot afford expensive medical care

of Horticulture |
|
|
A
beautiful garden at Madinat al-Hikmah spread over 40 acres, located
in the campus, ideal for a project for cultivation of medicinal
plants. The Center for Horticulture, set up in collaboration with
the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Germany, has been experimentally
growing indigenous and exotic plants under soil and water-tested
conditions.

The main objectives of the Center for Horticulture are:
Testing
the water quality of the existing springs and wells.
Investigation
of the discharge and specific yield of water
Introduction
of cheap and simple water-saving irrigation methods.
Training
of Pakistani villagers and other officers for working in the
rural areas.
Educating
children in the growth of plants and herbs.

Hamdard School of Law
faculty is qualified from internationally reputed universities
of the world. The faculty members have rich academic and professional
experience on their credit. Most of them have many years of professional
experience of teaching at renowned law colleges working as judges
at different High Courts of Pakistan as well at Supreme Court
of Pakistan.
On admission, a student will be assigned a personal tutor, a member
of the full-time faculty, who will remain available to the student
for advice, on any academic or personal matter, throughout his or her
stay at the Law School.
Library of Hamdard
School of Law is equipped with 6000 books about All Pakistan
Law Reports, All English Law Reports, All India Reporter, United
States Supreme Court Reports and other reports and journals are
also available for students and research.
With the LL.B. course,
regular classes in information and technology will also be conducted
throughout the 3-year course leading to a Diploma in IT (Law).
A computer lab has been setup for use by the students.

Hamdard
Education Net a project of “Hamdard University”, incorporated in
November 2000, started operating from the city of Karachi as Pakistan’s
